Friends of St. Luke’s are neighbors and others who want to support the work we do and do not specifically share the Christian/Episcopalian faith expression, or are members of another Episcopal or Christian Church. The Friends of St. Luke’s practice abundant life for our block: giving to and working with our dedicated gardeners, aiding our significant outreach to those who are poor and marginalized, and participating in our amazing Choir and Concert series. Outreach donations support weekly home-cooked meals for people living with HIV and AIDS, outreach and education for homeless and at-risk youth who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning or allies, and tutoring for children in underserved schools.
Friends share all the privileges and responsibilities that members do. Friends might choose to receive the Gazette (parish newsletter) or attend church, or not, but they do support the programs with time and resources. Friends also gather for community celebrations or projects on an occasional basis.
