Membership is not required to attend services at St. Luke’s, to enjoy learning and Parish Life activities, or to participate in Outreach programs. A desire to participate, and/or wanting a church home are all that is required for membership. If you would like to find out more about membership classes, please contact Fr. Hugh M. Grant (hgrant@stlukeinthefields.org) or [click here for more information about Discovery Classes]. Every person that comes to St. Luke’s is invited to make a pledge, or a financial promise, to show intention of living an abundant life.
Newcomers are invited to contribute as they see fit. They may wish to place money in the offering during worship, sign up for the Parish Life, or try outreach activities. Newcomers are invited to introduce themselves by requesting information from the parish office (info@stlukeinthefields.org), or by filling in a Welcome Card during worship that can be dropped in the mail slot at the parish office (487 Hudson Street) or sent through the mail [click here for more about your first visit to St. Luke’s]. We would be happy to send you information about becoming a Friend or a Member of St. Luke’s.
Pledging is an act of planned generosity by those who are able and want to do so. There is no limit on what value constitutes a pledge: it can be bills or coins, or as much as one wishes to extend themselves. Pledges allow the Budget Committee to plan a balanced budget based on promised income. Pledge Forms are available from the parish office (info@stlukeinthefields.org) or you may download a pdf version here. The information you provide is confidential and will only be seen by you and the parish bookkeeper. You may also record your pledge online by using our online pledge form. Once you have done so, our Business Office will receive notification of your pledge automatically. You will receive acknowledgement via email.
Pledge payments can be made in person, by mail, or online. You may pay a lump sum or installments over time. You may make a pledge payment online by credit card through St. Luke’s secure online pledge payment page using your Visa, American Express, or MasterCard. If your circumstances change, you may alter your pledge by calling the Business Office at 212-633-7817. You may always call our Business Manager, Maureen Doyle, at 212-633-7817 with any questions.
Pledging Church Members also participate in church governance and have voting privileges during the Annual Meeting, generally held in early February of each year according to the church corporate bylaws. It bears repeating that making a pledge is not a requirement of attendance or volunteering. t is simply another expression of participation at St Luke’s that is greatly appreciated and very rewarding.
