September 21, 2012
Dear Members and Friends of St. Luke’s,
The stewardship committee is continuing the “Our Community, Our Commitment” stewardship theme for 2013. We hope to build on the success of the last campaign and welcome you to join us in considering your commitment in 2013. We ask you to review the amount you pledged last year and consider, if you are able to do so, increasing your pledge by ten percent.
The stewardship committee expresses its sincerest gratitude to the members of St. Luke’s who showed their commitment to our community by making a pledge for 2012. For 2012, 219 St. Luke’s households pledged $422,487 (as of September 1), which is a 12.3% increase over 2011. Our goal this year is $460,000, an almost 10% increase, which will help us address our rising operating costs and help fund new initiatives. We acknowledge these difficult economic times and understand that it is not possible for every household to increase its pledge. Still, it is our hope that those who are able to sustainably increase their pledges will give to the best of their abilities. For the current pledge year, the average annual pledge is $1,929.
To reach our goal of $460,000, we are counting on all current pledging households to renew or increase their pledges. We also ask that new parishioners and those who regularly put cash gifts in the collection plates at Sunday services sign pledge forms.
Stewardship is an offering of our first fruits to God’s work in our community. We hope you will join us in committing to our community as a joyful expression of your faith for God’s work in our world.
Please reach out to a member of the stewardship committee if you have any questions. You can email us at stewardship@stlukeinthefields.org.
Sincerely,
Chris Phillips and Ethan Pinney
